    1. Luxembourg is 2,586.4 km2 (998.6 sq mi) with a population of 576,249, making it one of the world’s smallest states; 168th by size or 164th by population.

Let’s debate where the line is drawn between small and micro!

    3. Then neither is Singapore, if it can fit all those except Andorra inside it

Maybe it’s not a micro state, but it’s a really really small country with very very extremely little to offer besides being a tax-haven.

Micronesia has an area of 2,700 km^(2) (1,000 sq mi).

Luxembourg has an area of 2,586.4 km2 (998.6 sq mi)

Luxembourg is smaller than Micronesia, so is a micronation.

    6. Idk this is kinda like saying my penis isn’t small because I somehow found an even smaller penis.

Haha, I’m just joshin folks – I’ve never found a smaller penis 😔

Perhaps there’s a need for additional segmentation.

Perhaps Luxembourg is more of a ministate than a microstate, or maybe Monaco, San Marino, and the Vatican are really picostates rather than microstates.

Honestly, I think we can say it’s one, as it’s pretty small and used for tax evasion

It is about the same size as Rhode Island. You can walk the width of Rhode Island in about 10 hours.

Meanwhile to walk the width of Texas would take over 2,400 hours. So, yeah Luxembourg is still micro. If it was a small country it would be Denmark size.

What’s that nameless country (red one)? Hong Kong? Macau?

Edit: Oh I get it now, it’s the other island of Malta.

This doesn’t seem quite right, Andorra is approximately 470 km2 while Singapore is 740 km2 yet they seem the same size in this map

Nice to know how much of those countries are actually urban areas, that would be a real interesting fact.
