On the way home from the Moon in August 1971, Apollo 15 Astronaut Jim Irwin picked up a Hasselblad camera and captured [this astonishing prospect](https://tothemoon.im-ldi.com/gallery/apollo/15/6#AS15-96-13104) of a crescent Earth gleaming in a ray of sunlight.
