I agree with you man the size and influence of the Somali lobby in this country is insane

Is this like the thing where people say two totally different people look the same and I just sit here baffled? Those flags aren’t even close to similar except in the most reductive, simplistic ways. You might as well ask why the Texas flag looks like the Somali flag, because it’s about as similar as this.

Isn’t it weird how the US flag is rectangular and so is Syria’s?

they’re very different flags. especially considering how many flags are actually similar to other flags.

Minnesota adopted a new state flag on May 11, 2024, replacing the controversial old design with a simpler one featuring a dark blue shape of the state on the left, a light blue background representing lakes, and a white eight-pointed star symbolizing the North Star, referencing the state’s motto, „L’Étoile du Nord“ (Star of the North). This redesign, chosen from over 2,000 submissions, aims to be more inclusive and honors Minnesota’s geography, history, and identity without the problematic imagery of the previous flag, which depicted settlers displacing Native Americans.

    6. There are 30 countries that use red, white, and blue stripes in some fashion on their flags, is there a conspiracy?

They look nothing alike. The star isn’t the same. And neither is the color of blue. Plus one is two toned, the other isnt

    8. Wait till you find out about how high the population of Irish, English, Italian, German, and Spanish immigrants is!

and its been going on for years!

Then look at the US flag… red, white, AND blue! The same colors of England AND France, so corrupt.

The stars are different and they’re different shades of blue. Who cares, they’re both simple non controversial flag designs.

I disapprove of most flag redesigns, and this one does look particularly suspicious, but the old flag was some dude plowing up a field as an indian rides away. I mean, they lost all the wars so I get it but it seems a bit like spiking the football to put that on your state flag.

    11. This is insanely dumb. Try logging off and breathing into a paper bag for a while. Minnesota somalians are not coming for you. Relax

    12. Minnesota’s State flag was designed by Andrew Prekker, a 24-year-old from Luverne, Minnesota. Minnesota is the known as the North Star State, hence the star. The eight points on the star represent our State Capitol rotunda floor. Minnesota is also known for our lakes and winters which helps explain the colors. Hope that helps clear things up!

    13. If you are aware of that situation, you also would know the previous version of the flag they pulled at the last minute looked almost exactly the same as the somalian flag.

I don’t know enough about somalia nor minnesota. Which flag belongs to which place?

      Why this design?
The flag was designed by committee — a commission that included design experts and members of tribal and other communities of color. More than 2,600 proposals were submitted by the public. The commission picked one by Andrew Prekker, 24, of Luverne, as the base design.

The main changes the commission made were rotating the star by 22.5 degrees so it pointed straight north, and replacing the original light blue, white and green stripes with a solid, light blue field. The significance of the light blue area is up to the beholder. The original Dakota name for Minnesota, Mni Sóta Makoce, which will go on the new seal, can be translated as „where the water meets the sky.“ The commission’s chairman, Luis Fitch, said that to him, the light blue represents the Mississippi River, which originates in Minnesota, pointing to the North Star.
