Social Security sucks. It just redistributes from young poor workers to old rich boomers. „Pay as you go“ is an awful system.

And this is exactly why they hated FDR so much and continue to hate everything he built and stood for.

The Social Security Trust Fund (SSTF) is projected to be exhausted around 2031 to 2035, At which point, the system would only be able to pay about 79% to 83% of scheduled benefits using only **incoming payroll tax revenue**, leading to an automatic reduction in benefits which is estimated at approximately 19% to 20% by 2031 to 2035.
Unless congress funds the program
Above it’s means or changes it, all of the gains made by prior generations will be **Completely Depleted**
Primary challenges include the demographic shift, an aging population, longer life expectancies, youth unemployment, and a rise in healthcare and deathcare costs. All of which is expected to drop the worker-to-beneficiary ratio to about 2.4 workers per beneficiary by 2035.
Primary methods to curtail these threats are; by reducing benefits which is the primary response by Finland, additional or higher taxes on the wealthy such as Spain, or Increasing the retirement age as seen in France. The Social Security Amendments of 1983 foresaw these complications and enacted a 22 year plan to raise the retirement age only two years from 65 to 67, because any greater speed was determined as politically risky. Since 1983, the problem is only exacerbated.
Does Anyone truly believe we will have a retirement system for ourselves by 2065 without further crippling the country?

Ahh yes, back when America was great!
’80s and ’90s seem like Peak Financial stability in America. Maybe it was better before that but I wasn’t around and all I know is it’s getting worse. I feel like making America great again will continue to make it much worse both financially and morally and ethically.
One day the people Revolt over white billionaires hoarding unfathomable wealth.
