I am more worried about procurement and how it will function. I do believe there needs to be investment in less expensive high ticket items and their manufacturing that we can do at scale to develop some industrial and tooling capacity withing the country. Especially when it comes to drones, the ability for land drones as well as air drones should be easy to manufacture in Canada at scale and build an industrial base. Especially as there are large orders. But there are a lot of other components that matter, as noted in the article like MDA with Satellites and communication systems. Something that is not sexy but is worth its weight in gold, as well as other Electronic and less firepower related equipment.

Thank God. I was really worried for the investor class. It’s rough out there.
I understand the cynicism, but the vision is exactly what Canada needs to embrace, immediately. We are so far behind the powers that would and could threaten our sovereignty, it is alarming.
No, we will never be more powerful than the US, or Russia, or China, but we are not aggressors. We should be innovators that develop security methods firstly for ourselves, and also for allies.
Don’t distill this kind of idea to something as basic as „more guns“.
It’s to protect ourselves from the Americans if we have to.
