The plot is the thing people care the least about with this series. It’s all about the pretty visuals and nothing else, nobody’s on the edge of their seat dying to learn how the story goes from here. Largely because all three movies have basically the same plot but themed after a different element.

Does anyone actually care about the plots of these movies? They are visually beautiful, but is anyone actually invested in the story and the characters? Because I don’t know a single person who is invested in the plots.
I just think its so odd that this franchise has monopolized so many years of Cameron’s career. Kinda makes me wonder what he could have made if he wasn’t so hung up on this Avatar BS. One movie was sufficient.

Honestly after watching the third one last night somebody needs to wrangle him in if they do 4 and 5. You could’ve cut a good chunk of the 2nd and 3rd movies out and end up a with a less bloated singular film.
Maybe I’m just getting old and out of touch but is there really a huge demand for this franchise to continue? I mean they aren’t bad movies but I also would not say they are anything great and I’ve yet to meet anyone who was huge fan who couldn’t wait for the next movie or regularly rewatches the old ones.

I only watched the first two for the 3D film tech. Still debating if I want to watch the latest. I honestly don’t know or care about the plot.

Why is Cameron pushing this „I don’t even know if Avatar 3 will be successful enough to justify sequels“ narrative? The first two alone guaranteed he can make as many of these damn movies as he wants. There’s zero reason to believe 3 won’t gross well over a billion as well.
