I don’t know about it topping the TV ratings, but it’s topped my YouTube feed with people complaining about it – justifiably I might add.

Talks about division whilst sitting on a golden throne. Wanker.

Probably more because there is f all else on worth watching than anything

A message of hope and community is always going to do well with the current state of the country. Russian bots will be disappointed in it.
Carol of the bells was a pretty good rendition too.

Fuck all else on all day, to be honest with you. Christmas telly used to be an event

I think it was a good message. Nice to see people tune into something positive rather than the negative tripe you get in say a r/unitedkingdom comment section.

One thing Charlie does is make his feelings known in a way that is much more on the nose than the queen did. Having the speech play out with a Ukrainian Choir singing a carol of Ukrainian origin backed by a band of British forces personnel whilst footage of Princess Anne visiting injured Ukrainian soldiers played was hefty.

I was thinking the other day I have literally never watched one of these, I’m honestly confused why anyone would.
I’m not trying to be contrary I just don’t see the point.

Still better than watching Dad’s Army for the 495th time.

Highest rated Christmas Day TV spot is the equivalent of winning a 1 horse race.

I found it weird he didn’t start with a “hello” or “merry Christmas”. I forget if they’ve ever done that tho but it just didn’t seem very personal at all. He went straight into the serious stuff.

I thought it was just old and conservative people who still watched this. It’s not a huge leap to think these people make up huge numbers and will vote right next time.
It’s quite sad to think people revert to the monarchy for leadership and guidance over the government.
Maybe it’s just me but I think these figures have political ramifications

I quite enjoyed that it was broadcast right after Ukraine struck Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery with British Storm Shadow missiles, and the King’s speech included at the end a Ukrainian choir singing the Ukrainian-composed Carol of the Bells while wearing Ukrainian national dress, with musicians from the Royal Air Force, from which the Storm Shadow missiles come.

I received a warning for what I said about this creep the last time his speech popped up on Reddit, so I’ll keep it to myself this time.

It did not exactly have competition in the hunt for ratings this year did it ?
