The year started with America’s tech overlords kissing the ring at Trump’s inauguration, and it’s ending with the public fed up with the ostentatiously rich—and more distrustful of Silicon Valley than ever, particularly on AI.

In no small part because the rich, at least when it comes to the tech elite, talk as though they want to eat us

This is a huge understatement; most Americans have been wanting to demolish the ever-growing wealth gap for like a decade now. Tim Miller was a key figure on the very pro-wealthy / status quo 2016 Jeb Bush campaign, so it makes sense that he would be very behind on knowing this.

I see people on social media act like Swisher is the devil or something. It sounds like she talked Elon up back when everyone didn’t hate him. But having listened to her and seen her in interviews for years, I think she’s one of the more consistent and effective voices against Trump and especially Musk.

Are we really though? Because Reddit likes to talk about it but what is actually being done? Talk doesn’t change things. You can’t have a revolution if you are too lazy to leave your house and just cry about it on socials everyday and let’s be real… people aren’t about to get off their ass and fight, we aren’t anywhere close to that level of actions… at least decades from it. When your friend and family start starving to death… then we’ll see something happen and not until.

The officers of the nerd reich are building infrastructure as we speak to enable them to take capitalism to its logical end point of techno-feudalist microstates. These people are totally nuts, and so insulated from society and regular people that they genuinely believe their own nonsense, and have their own rich people gurus who lead them around like a narcissistic Moses. We’re in a real inflection point, and it’s turning out to be very dangerous. https://youtu.be/fIR70MAf12E

America will never have an “eat the rich” moment, for the same reason that north korea wont
The reason the french are able to rebel is a strong culture of collectivism, looking out for your neighbours, and pursuing freedom and better living conditions for everyone. This is seen as “strength” in french culture.
But in america, this behaviour is seen as being “ungrateful” and “spoiled”. American strength is seen as individualism, competition with your neighbours, and subservient loyalty followed up with gratitude and thanks. American strength is eagerly taking what the wealthy give you, thanking them for it, and then when you see other people protesting for more, you can tell yourself theyre just spoiled and weaker than you.
But in an individualistic society, where you have to assume competition with everyone else, it would never make sense to protest from any single persons perspective. Taking a day off work to speak out against your employer is just opening up your seat for a competitor to yoink it out from under you.

Poors gonna poor. A tale as old as time.
Poors have no access to capital or organization. They always split off or have their will sapped because they too wannabe rich.
Those few charismatic souls who lead the movement will either sell out or be sold out.
It wasn’t until MLK talked about economic equality that he was assassinated.
Poors need to grow a pair: it’s not enough to eat the rich.

I wouldn’t personally eat RFK because I don’t want CJD, CWD and Mad Cow. Trump and Musk don’t appear to have the healthiest diets, would be too fatty. So they’ll probably be spared. Is it too much to ask for the rich to maintain an organic, plant-based paleo diet?
