Can someone please reconcile this with current polling? I realize he’s unpopular, but the party is doing seemingly well in polls

All these left wing articles talking about Pierre doing so poorly yet their party is doing well in the polls. If we saw them doing poorly in the polls or we saw right wing groups calling for him to step down then maybe it would be credible but for now it’s looking like a left wing dream to have him leave.

His base won’t let him change the message. The same Soc con group that tossed O’Tool. They will win or lose on their ideology.

Pierre is already done, the problem is there isn’t anyone stepping up to take over. I’ll bet a coffee that between now and the next budget vote, another 1-5 MPs will switch over and give Carney a majority, and also before the next Conservative leadership vote. If these two things happen Pierre really is done.

The conservatives only win with a strong NDP. In 2011 the only conservative majority since 1988 they were helped by the “orange crush”. In 2015 for example the conservatives did not so bad with the popular vote but lost because NDP voters went to the Liberals.

Vote efficiency. The conservatives have proven that they can win the popular vote (twice) and still win 40 fewer seats than the liberals. They need to appeal more to suburban and urban voters.

OMG. I get sick of these opinion articles written by those within the LPC tent.
I’m not arguing with a substance, or the reputation of these actors.
But to many people, these „news“ articles come across as legitimate and objective journalism. While opinion pieces have a place in media, this is pure punditry by partisan actors.

I think that it’s unfair to expect Poilievre to become someone else. He could only wear a mask for a brief period of time.
