Before anyone asks, this war has been happening for 80+ years, but it was mostly between ethnic armies and Communists against the juntas.

The military overthrew the civilian government on February 1, 2021. Since then, the formerly peaceful regions of Tanintharyi and the Dry Zone have become hotbeds for guerrillas. One reason being is that the civilian leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, is revered by the Bamar people (because she is the daughter of Burma’s founding father).

The military is attempting to legitimize their power with the first phase of an „election“ this coming Sunday.

    2. Damn, he cold bloodedly shot the woman cowering in the corner of the building that they overrun. Harsh.
