The next day they continued to kill each other by the millions for 3 more years using every tool available to them from shovel to flamethrowers and mustard gas, reminding the world that the human race is a despicable waste of bio mass.
They even played footbal together!
Yet people chose stupid people as leaders.
I mean it wasn’t like an evil tyrannical power that needed to he stopped. By and large people on the ground didn’t have any horse in the race. A dude none of them likely knew about getting shot is a pretty fucking awful reason to be told to go due horribly.
Yeah and the officers hated it and did their best to make sure it never happened again.
