Oh nein, they will track my land ownership!

Nobody will buy my land after I die because it was tainted by a foreigner!

Most 2nd gen raised in Japan have no language issues and those students with language issues are only a tiny minority among foreign residents of school age.

Appearance (especially for black, Latino, SE and South Asians) is the main factor of them facing injustices and if this is not addressed, there would be no improvement.

What about the plan for bringing foreign talents? Language before science?

  4. I’m actually fine with these proposals, as I think they’re pretty fair. What I don’t like is jacking up the exit tax fee (which everyone has to pay every time you leave the country) and then saying they’ll offset that by lowering Passport fees only for Japanese. That’s an unfair tax increase on everyone who lives in Japan and travels. They should fast track JESTA and make that the center of how they deal with tourists and short term visitors and jack up that fee if need be.

I live in the countryside of Nara. There is a small community Japanese class, which I tried to join, but it has a really long waiting list. Other than that, there is *nothing* for foreigners in the area. I would *love* for there to be more local support for integration.

  6. They’re gonna teach me Japanese? Is it free? What do I do when I’m working full time and have a family, do I make time to go to these lessons?

This Reddit thread is basically “gaijin fatigue.” I wonder what the next complaint will be — “We demand Japan become an English-speaking country.”
