Lol, not gonna lie, this map’s wild. Kinda shook how the UN’s expanded over the years.
For those wondering, we Swiss did not join the UN until 2002, with the main objection being participation in UN security commitments (such as armed conflict via peacekeeping forces, sanctions, etc.) were incompatible with our neutrality. There was a referendum and the population voted to join the UN, deciding that participation in the global community was worth the risks to neutrality.
