Does anyone else hear the sound of the world’s smallest violin?

**RBC describes DeVocht as being committed to “his own all or nothing leveraged options trading strategy.”**
Sure sounds like this guy bought into Elon’s hype and completely ignored advice. Why is this news?

I feel no sympathy for this guy, absolutely none. He could have sold and made enough to never work another day in his life and then some. He got greedy and lost it all.

>$88,000 at 2019 year-end. By June of 2020, his portfolio was worth $26 million “…and rising rapidly.”
>In August 2020, DeVocht contacted RBC Private Banking about obtaining a loan against the equity in his self-directed RBC trading account — then valued at $50 million — so he could move out of his rental apartment and buy a place.
You turned less than $100k into 50 million. Just cash out a couple of million and buy a sweet house in ***cash.***
>When DeVocht transferred the assets of his self—directed trading account to RBC DS in Sept. 2020, the market value was $77.27 million US.A
And maybe cash out some more to set it aside to pay property taxes for the rest of your life. Even if you were wiped out, you’d still have the house and tax fund to live comfortably for the rest of your life.
>In November of 2021, DeVocht’s portfolio topped out at $415 million. But then Tesla stocks tanked, wiping out DeVocht at the same time.
SCREW THE HOUSE, BUY A SMALL BC ISLAND AND BUILD THERE. EITHER WAY IT’S TIME TO GTFO THE CASINO.

It’s true, what they say: money can cause an illness.
If I turned 88K into 1M, I like to think I’d have the sense to quit part way. But I don’t know if I would.

The mentality that let this guy ride 88K to 415M is the same mentally that let this guy ride it to zero.

„What people don’t understand in these situations is that if this degenerate knew how to manage risk, he never would have made $415m in the first place.
Any sensible person would have quit when their $88k investment turned into $250k. Any slightly deranged regard would have walked at $500k or $1m.
Only the most unreasonable, out of touch person could make and lose that much money. “
