Armored vehicles stormed and trampled on shops and homes of Khmer soldiers at the recently concluded Battle of An Ma.
During the five-day battle, parts of the market were damaged by fire, caused by clashes between Thai and Cambodian soldiers.
After the firing positions, Cambodian troops were still able to hold hills 500 and 677, and half of the southern market area.
Cambodian soldiers dug trenches throughout the market area, from east to west towards Hill 500.
The Cambodian soldiers used shops or wooden houses for shelter throughout the ceasefire until a second round of fighting broke out. Thailand launched a coordinated attack and successfully captured Hill 677,
This clip shows armored troop transport vehicles crashing into the market and chasing down and firing at the rear of Cambodian soldiers.

So Thailand is basically taking little bites of these border villages and hills not even part of the disputed territory?

Can someone explain why they’re fighting in the first place? I only have seen “border skirmishes” but is that it? Is there some ideological reason for this fighting or is it just border skirmishes?
