I’ve actually looked a bit into how stuff like “hey Siri” works a while back. It’s essentially its own processor within your phone that is specifically designed to listen for specifically that sound. To make it be able to identify more sounds would require even more complicated sound processing which would eat into your battery life. However a specially designed chip meant to listen to one very specific sound can be done with very little power. Only when this chip registers its trigger sound will a more advanced sound processing system kick in

Our brains can actually do something similar, it’s like how you can recognize your own name even when super tired, not paying attention, groggy and over a ton of other noise. However trying to transcribe a full conversation under the same pre-text and you will have to put a lot more thought and energy into it. But you can literally be sleeping and still register your name enough to wake up

Sampling our “frequencies” is something that would need to be done very frequently rather than an odd once a minute ping. Sampling and processing received sounds at rate required would notably impact the performance of your device. It’s the equivalent to your phone paying max attention to everything you say constantly… and for a person that’s exhausting. For a computer it’s computationally intensive.

Similar applies to it listening to what you say. Either it’s constantly recording and sending that information off (very bandwidth intensive and easily noticeable by anyone who views their internet traffic)
Or it’s transcribing what you say into a text file which gets sent off from time to time (which would be very processor intensive as you transcribe those sounds into text)

Both of which would be very obvious to someone tech savvy, there is no hiding it.

There is one things our phones do end up doing though. And that’s pinging cell towers or GPS satellites every few minutes, this isn’t power intensive/bandwidth intensive and with the right equipment you can clearly see that it happens. This can allow you to be tracked in near real time… or atleast your phone

This has also been used from time to time by law enforcement for criminal cases and you can find details about the process online pretty easily. Any of the stuff youve said has never been publicly confirmed unlike with the cell tower tracking; which doesnt mean it’s not happening. Its just that there is no hard evidence that isn’t anecdotal or a single persons experiences which can’t be collaborated by others

What I can’t understand is how more people aren’t talking about this

Why would the mods scrub it?

Cause you don’t follow sub rules and somehow you think that means your on the edge of a ground breaking thought?

    4. All I gotta say is, try hallucinogens and look at your phone. You will realize in an instant that this what OP says is all true! Our phone is a WMD.

The same would hold true for a tv screen so think what you want and understand why it’s called „programming“,

Try to take a one day break from your phone, if you can’t/won’t there might be a problem.
