I am overhearing plenty of people talking about their trips to Florida. I am jealous because I can’t afford it, I imagine a lot of Canadians are in the same boat as me. I don’t think it has stopped as much as the media is telling us.

    2. I can’t wait until Ronny sees those winter tourism numbers next year. Hope he’s standing when he reads them and there’s no one there to break his fall.

      >“Domestic travelers accounted for 91.5 per cent of total visitation, with 31.5 million Americans visiting the state,” the tourism body said

And that’s one thing I don’t think Canadians are understanding. Despite all of Trump’s and the GOP’s nonstop vitriol, Americans are absolutely **flocking** to red states. Not just red states, but the deep red. You’d think that they’d be the ones suffering the most from travel boycotts but no, domestic visitors are making up for the shortfall.

Instead, I feel like it’s the northern blue states that have stood by Canada who are ironically suffering from the travel boycott the most

While international travel may only make up 8% of travelers, that’s a chunk that many businesses can’t afford to lose.

Businesses have fixed costs that don’t scale.

It’s hard to stomach that some of my fellow Canadians are still vacationing in the US… after their attacks on our sovereignty and economy. Shamelessly selfish.
