      It’s ironic that anyone who reads the propaganda on X gets the idea that Sweden has turned into a third-world country, when in virtually every ranking of quality of life and safety it’s usually among the top countries. X really is a dump.

      As a Canadian I wouldn’t say no to join the EU, especially with that moron at the White House. That said, I have 2 young boys and Canada (Montréal for me) is quite a good place to raise a family.

      Meanwhile Finland has one of the lowest birthrates in Europe. So being the best place to raise a child doesn’t help much…

      It’s interesting to see considering top 5 countries have bad weather. I would imagine a sunnier place would be more fun for a family. I know it probably counts in lots of financial factors but I’d rather grow up in a sunny place…

      I have a hard time believing this ranking. We’re not doing so great atm, and if this is the best country to raise a family, I can’t imagine how cooked the rest of the world is.

      USA needs paid maternity leave and universal health care so badly, they should show them as number 75 on the list or something just to drive the point home.

      I really want to know what metrics were used. As someone who lives in Sweden. I wouldn’t want to raise my kid here.

      Germany and Switzerland only if you are German or Swiss.
      Finland is good if you don’t talk usually too much. The other countries are more welcoming and not xenophobic like Germany and Switzerland

      Switzerland? To raise a family? If I would send both my kids to full daycare I would pay the equivalent of about 5800 EUR… per month… two kids. Switzerland definitely is not a good place to raise a family. It is good for DINK couples.

      Hilarious, top happiest countries, top healthiest countries
      Always same countries, that no nobody wants to live in.
      Cold, shortness of light, terrible cuisine “smoke fish”, high taxes. Reality small population that is proud of their heritage. They all vacation in Spain, Italy and Greece

      That’s a bullshit list. A country with birth rate below 2.1 has no business claiming that they are “good” for families. First you drive home prices to fucking sky’s and then you clame to be best for families raising children lmao. You know what countrie is the best for raise children? Nigeria. Because they can afford it and it is socially acceptable to have 4 children without fucking spending all your money on their extracurriculars

      Portugal should not be on this list, imho. The top half of Italy has significantly better social welfare policies and services. And some regions — Emilia-Romagna, Veneto, and Trentino — approach Scandinavian quality. France is another country that’s significantly better for families than Portugal.

      People skip meals because they can’t afford groceries in Canada (me included) and are forced to choose between food and rent. Is this a sick joke?

      Portugal is probably one of the worst countries to have a family right now with how expensive housing is + how maternities just literally refuse to accept women about to give birth because they don’t have enough doctors to take them in.
