If a self contained area has a continuous desire for independence then it should have it.
You can argue about turnout and supermajority, is a single 51% off a 50% turnout ok for a permanent change, perhaps not. 75% on a 70% turnout three times in say 20 years certainly would be.
The principle remains though. people have a right to self determination. Catalan, Texas, Cornwall, Gibraltar, Falklands, Northern Ireland, Timor-Leste, Homg Kong.
