Officially he didn’t add his name because it would take an act of Congress. They’ll let him put his name on the building but as soon as the administration changes to someone without loyalty to Trump, the name change will be treated as if it never happened.

My prediction is that a decade after Trump’s death, only a few buildings will be left with his name. The half of people that dislike him will never give business to a Trump branded business. And the half that like him now will have moved on to worship someone else.
I even think that where his descendants used to want his name, that some will opt for their spouses name or just change their name unilaterally.
