Colonialism was necessary to make a pizza.
It’s interesting just how ingrained the new world stuff became in Europe and especially Mediterranean cuisine.. I went to an event that served „ancient Roman“ food and all of it had tomatoes… Like, we can’t even imagine European kitchens without these ingredients.
