When the Kremlin press office sends you a press release full of bullshit, you don’t repeat the bullshit just because you have to „report both sides.“ You report that the Kremlin has nothing to say except bullshit, and you move on to actual facts.

Otherwise you’re just perpetually getting led around by the nose by every PR flunky that comes along. Maybe that’s „communications“ but it’s not journalism.
