avante aka 2nd gen elantra and sonata are.
I nominate the 1st generation Grandeur for this, affectionately called 각그랜저 (*gak-Grandeur*, literally sharp-angled Grandeur due to its design). [Here’s an article with a photo of it](https://www.news-wa.com/article/automobiles/2025/06/11/20250611500010).
Its gotta be the OG kia soul. Boxy, cheap as shit, and basically got kia started down the road to dominance.
Depends what you mean by “legend.” Korea does not really have a single global halo car like the 911 or Skyline.
For sports/enthusiast cars: Hyundai Tiburon, Veloster (yes, the weird 3-door), Genesis Coupe, and more recently the N cars. None are timeless icons, but they mattered to enthusiasts. Also true, no recent 6-cylinder sports cars.
For actual Korean “legends” in a cultural sense: Hyundai Pony and Hyundai Grandeur. Those are the cars that defined eras and social mobility in Korea.
Korea’s car legends are mostly about industrial and social impact, not motorsport mythology.

If Hyundai executes it well, it could be N Vision 74/derivative.
But for legend, KIA truck. Built up the nation with all 80 bhp.
Being from the countryside of Korea, you see quite your fair share of SsangYong Chairman from people who used to be influential…
If we’re talking about sports car I would definitely say Avante/Elantra N is up there. You can argue that Hyundai Genesis Coupe should be up there but that car is very controversial to be considered a sports car(I heard it’s more of a GT).
For an iconic car it’s definitely Hyundai Sonata and Daewoo Matiz. Sonata now is kinda dwarfed by Grandeur but it was a go to family car back in the day. I don’t think I need to explain further for Daewoo Matiz.
I’m not adding any Japanese cars like the Daewoo Labo/Damas or 1st gen Grandeur since, they are not very Korean.
Hyundai Stellar? lol

Lots of people are saying the Pony, which is the right answer for last century for sure. I wanted to add, how about the Pony Coupe?
