Okay, so they’re going to “protect women” by encouraging people to send in spy shots from women’s restrooms?

    3. Boring_Investment597 on

That’s going to be flooded with some disgusting pictures instantly at best

At worst someone is going to be tracked down and murdered for not looking enough like a woman.

This is state sponsored sexual harassment

Edit: seriously. What in the ever loving fuck is wrong with people in this country

    5. >In reality, research has shown no evidence that allowing trans women access to single-sex spaces like bathrooms poses a safety risk to cisgender women.

      >In fact, forcing trans people to use facilities that do not align with their gender identity can result in “high rates of harassment and violence against transgender people as well as cisgender people, particularly women who do not conform to traditional ideas of femininity,” according to the [Movement Advancement Project](https://www.lgbtmap.org/policy-and-issue-analysis/bathroom-ban-laws#:~:text=By%20contrast%2C%20bathroom%20ban%20laws%20compromise%20public,take%20the%20law%20into%20their%20own%20hands.). A 2021 study from UCLA’s Williams Institute found that trans people are [four times more likely than cis people](https://www.lgbtqnation.com/2021/03/trans-people-face-four-times-violence-cis-people/) to be victims of violent crime.

      >The law has already been used in ways that lawmakers may not have intended. Students at the University of [Texas](https://www.lgbtqnation.com/tag/texas) San Antonio (UTSA), for example, are being forced out of their current dorm rooms and made to relocate because of the ban.

      >At UTSA, mixed-gender dorms include pairs of rooms separated by a shared bathroom; often, those rooms are occupied by people of different genders. Any students sharing a bathroom between their rooms with someone of a different sex assigned at birth are being forcibly rehoused to comply with the new law.

This is ridiculous. Republicans are trying to be the bathroom police to do inspections on people using the bathroom. This is utterly asinine. It’s all part of the Christian nationalists plot of genocide against trans people. Christian nationalists have made it clear that they would rather have dead people than trans people. It’s pure fascism.

Immediately waiting on the barrage of people sending photos of Greg Abbott and Ken Paxton to this. This’ll be trolled beyond all belief.

You know what I don’t think about when I am using a public restroom? The genitals of the other people using the restroom. You know why, because who the hell does? Like, another person is using the public restroom. My thoughts are not, nor have they ever been, about their genitalia.

We all need to start taking pictures of our poops and submitting them

    9. rockerscott on

So Ken Paxton clearly has a fetish for transgender voyeurism. How dare any of you kink shame him.

    10. It would be a shame if people *really* didn’t use that for its intended purpose…

    11. Two snarky thoughts:

      1. Is there also a tip line to report people taking picture in bathrooms?

      2. It’s a two-fer; the state gets *suspected* trans people using the ‚wrong “ bathroom AND people taking pictures in bathrooms.

    12. loweredvisions on

I’m pretty sure taking pictures of women in the bathroom is one of the things they’re worried about… who else but Quagmire?

    13. Responsible_Ladder25 on

So I can send a photo of a woman, who, say I don’t like for some reason, and cause her irreparable harm and embarrassment? Was this thought through carefully? Never mind. It’s Texas. Bathroom warfare.

    14. PossessionOk5313 on

This is going to affect cis women who had the audacity to be born tale, have a square jaw, or not fit into what old white men think a woman should look like.

    16. I wonder if they’re going to be getting a lot of photos of goatse. Might as well traumatize the ones who are trying to do the traumatizing, if they want to see photos we should give them photos!

    17. Interesting_Reach_29 on

So they just want to takes nudes of women? Because this is so creepy….always “trans” but it means all women. You can’t have equality without trans equality.

    18. EmilioMolesteves on

So I guess we just need to send as many pictures as possible of Ted Cruz and his wheelchair sidekick.

    19. “Let’s create a voter fraud reporting tip line!”

Tip line is immediately spammed to death with prank calls.

“Let’s create a DEI reporting tip line!”

Democrats should promise to arrest people who do this.

I’m tired of playing nice. If you send in creepshots of people in the bathroom, you get to go to prison when we get back in power.

    21. Cyrano_Knows on

      I am middle-aged.

      I used public restrooms.

Never once, have I seen another man’s (or woman’s) genitals.

I’m pretty sure that nobody has ever seen mine (that I noticed).

This is 1000% fear mongering issue manufactured on part of the MAGA-fucks.

    22. Tip lines are fun. I love when the state asks its citizens to report on each other. „Stop calling us Nazis“ well stop acting like Nazis for 5 minutes. I sure hope the youths don’t start a campaign to flood that garbage with tips. That would just be inappropriate 😊
