    1. Just release the files and remove the guy so we can get our normal prices back

    2. I bought a ps5 from Facebook marketplace of all places. Surprisingly worked out great and saved a shitload of money.

This is why being old and about a decade behind on gaming is awesome.

I’m still working through $20 Xbox One games. Soon enough the PS5 and new Xbox prices will start to plummet and I’ll have a whole new set of games to playthrough on the cheap.

    4. I think the fact that they’re still running the “Black Friday” deal on the PS5 Pro sums up the expected sales vs reality pretty well. I also feel like the sale price is what the Pro should be sold at normally though.

    5. Making the hardware worse for more money. Less money to spend. Tariffs. Still have to pay for food somehow. What were we meant to do?

we all broke. Nintendo selling game at 120$.

Most triple A game at 90$ suck ass, made by talentless nepotism employee

Have more fun with 5$-10$ games

    7. If our overlords want us to C O N S U M E they gotta break us off a lil bit bc it’s wild out here.

    8. Perhaps robbing the majority of the US population has consequences? People can’t buy shit if they’re barely surviving.

Good. This price creep for trash games that need 3 updates to run properly is ridiculous. Its litterally not worth it to get most games day one your paying more money for no reason.

actually a really important economic bellwether. you have to have a decent amount of disposable income to buy one.

This is going to be the new normal until the big idiot is out of office. Biden suddenly not looking so bad….

    12. About two years ago I pulled the trigger and bought my family a Switch (1). With games, 3 pairs of extra controllers, and some accessories, I spent around $550 for the setup.

I recently looked at the Switch 2 and ran numbers to purchase a similar setup to what I already have. I came up with about a thousand dollars. $500 for the console, $300 for three pairs of extra controllers, and a minimum of $200 in games and other accessories.

Nope. I’ll stick with my original Switch for now.

Awwwww did someone drain all the money from the lower class in an economy that depends on consumer spending

    14. Hard to justify buying a console when all latest gen can be played on previous gen, for the most part

    15. Biggest issue is the jump from one console to the next is no longer that big of a deal, last gen games looked great and the new gen games look barely any better. It’s more like it loads faster and the draw distance is farther but game looks the same for the most part so no longer are the days of saying WOW this looks soooo much better. Kinda like iPhones now we have hit a hardware limit and the improvements are very minor now. So why spend a ton if you have older consoles or devices like steam deck that play games and they look great still

    16. At this rate Sony will be lucky if I get a PS6. Do I want a PS5 sure, do I need one? No.

I almost bought a ps1. But they went up in price by 25$ haha. I guess I’ll wait.

    18. Cant wait for American big tech to realize that an oppressed and broke society will do numbers on thier sales lmao

    19. SouthernLampPost530 on

Idk, maybe because we are broke is a hard concept to understand.

    20. Well yeah people have no money and companies are out here like „You know what? Let’s do $70 now.“

Fuck that I have Age of Empires II.. 300 hrs mother fuckers.

    21. Don’t worry, electronic prices will come down now that….wait what do you mean there’s no more RAM?

Just one of many signs that “optional” and “impulse” producers have forgotten but getting the reminder that they aren’t indeed necessities.

I was looking to buy a Series S for my living room and I saw that they increased the price by around $100.

And that’s the budget console. Almost $500. Yeah, fucccccck that.

Well when GTAV6 and ES6 have buggy unplayable initial releases I won’t shed a tear cuz I’m enjoying an optimized complete Monster Hunter Wilds, lots of stars aligning here I know.

Sad to see these selfish consumers unwilling to go into debt to fuel shareholder returns. Don’t they know buy now pay later exists?!

    26. To buy a digital game not a physical copy it’s almost 80 bucks. I’m not broke but refuse to pay so much for games.

    27. ParkerLewisCL on

Bought my PS4 for $300(aud) / $200 USD around three years after its release. PS5 has been out a good four years and it’s still $700 ($470 US) here. I’ll stick with my PS4 for a while

    28. FernandoMM1220 on

and i’m sure the fact that more and more articles are paywalled has nothing to do with it either.

Despite what Trump said at his address affordability is an issue and most are not making more money despite what bullshit made up numbers he pulled out of the air.

Most people that wanted a current gen system probably already got it.

Hardware manufacturers raising prices is going to slow sales and Xbox and Nintendo have been shooting themselves in the foot per usual with corporate horseshit.
