    1. >The data reveals a 16-point increase over the past 5 years in hostile views of immigrants. A clear majority (54%) now believe that immigration threatens traditional Canadian customs and values, up from just 38% in 2020

So we can safely say that Trudeau, particularly his post-pandemic immigration program, has utterly shattered the long-held consensus in Canada that increased immigration is a net positive culturally.

      >with a small 4-point NET score increase occurring in the past year (from +15 to +19). This isn’t a blip, but a trend with momentum.

Well a 4-point increase is small enough so maybe opinion is stabilizing more than really deteriorating on that issue. But that opinion on immigration is still in the cave, far from what I’ve seen in multiple surveys over the years.

The PDF of that survey also makes it clear that concern about illegal immigration is a cross partisan issue, as is the wish to make legal immigration harder. The sentiment that the federal government has failed to manage immigration is at a staggering +63. Legal immigration still polls at a net (+19) positive however.
