Präsident Donald Trump behauptete das Israelisch-amerikanisch Mega-Spenderin Miriam Adelson bot ihm 250 Millionen US-Dollar für eine verfassungswidrige dritte Amtszeit im Jahr 2028 an – eine Idee, die er wiederholt gehänselt hat.
Bei einem Weißes Haus Beim Chanukka-Empfang am Dienstagabend sprach Trump begeistert von Adelson, bevor er sie auf die Bühne brachte.
„Miriam hat meiner Kampagne indirekt und direkt 250 Millionen Dollar gegeben, sie war die Nummer eins“, sagte der republikanische Präsident zu einer Menschenmenge im East Room. „Wenn dir jemand 250 Millionen Dollar geben kann, sollten wir ihr meiner Meinung nach die Gelegenheit geben, Hallo zu sagen.“
Adelson – der mit einem Milliardär verheiratet war Sheldon Adelson bis zu seinem Tod im Jahr 2021 – dann stand sie hinter dem Podium und verriet, dass sie sich gerade mit Alan Dershowitz getroffen hatte, einem Professor der Harvard Law School, der als Anwalt für Jeffrey Epstein tätig war.
Sie behauptete, mit ihr gesprochen zu haben Dershowitz „Noch etwa vier Jahre“, bevor er hinzufügte: „Ich sage Alan, ich stimme dir zu, also schaffen wir es!“
Die Menge brach dann in den Sprechchor „Vier weitere Jahre“ aus, während Adelson sich vorbeugte, um mit dem 79-jährigen Präsidenten zu sprechen.
„Sie sagte: ‚Denk darüber nach, ich gebe dir.‘ weitere 250 Millionen Dollar,’“, verkündete Trump dem Publikum.
„Ich werde geben“, bestätigte Adelson schnell.
