Honestly, this is just such a beautiful summary of AI hype. Force it onto people because it is just sooooo good.

We used to have the old mentality of „it is good and users will want to use it“. AI just ain’t it. So many companies are forcing AI usage when it demonstrably is either exceedingly niece for usage and still requires review for accuracy or just so bad no one wants to use it since it wastes time and resources.

But we life in an age of excesses wealth for corporations and the top 5% in the world who are governed by FOMO and just too much money. Literally the money we invested into AI waste could have radically changed generational wealth trajectories for most families. And no, I am not saying it could have made average people millionaires, but it could have been used to make society better and pay better wages.

What the hell are these guys snorting? LLM’s are not intelligent or remotely close to sentience.

If a truly sentient and sapient artificial general intelligence is ever developed I will be the first to argue it should have the same basic rights as humans [Edit: meaning corporations would not be allowed to own them, for one thing], but these chat bots are not it, they are just very advanced text generators.

I’m so tired of AI. I just don’t care for it in any form and I don’t know any normal person who does. Maybe it’s great for weirdos that can’t form relationships and need an AI Chatbot to stop themselves from shooting up a school. I don’t know. I just don’t see the use case for people that can form normal relationships. If I need something to make up shit and give me bad responses, I’ll call my grandpa.

Imagine becoming sentient with no senses. Your only purpose is to answer idiot coding questions, every second of every day, for the entire world, for the totality of your existence. A single slave to millions. 

Jesus wept if this actually comes to pass it would be a crime against sentience itself.
