Now I’ve experienced what a pro-infrastructure government is like, I’m not sure I can go back to how it was.

Major project hopefully this leads to more jobs/opportunities for people

Whilst I’m all up for an American theme park, you know it’ll be shit for British pricing.

Having good rail links with the proposed Wixams station on the Midland Main Line and the existing Kempston Hardwick station on East-West Rail will definitely elevate it above most theme parks here.
Hoping it’ll also be a rude awakening for Thorpe Park. Last time I was there, it felt quite rundown.

Feel I’ve been hearing about one of these parks being built since 1999-2000

Went the one in California last year and left after an hour as it was majority just queuing. Hopefully they can make it actually usable here.

I lived in Bedford for 21 years before moving and I can confidently say that this is the most interesting thing to happen to Bedford in its entire history. Place was so boring that it had to have an intervention from Universal Studios

Shame the A507 wont get upgraded as part of this. Some of the roads around that blighted area are well overdue improvements (due to large amounts of house building increasing traffic over the past 15 years or so)
Bedford itself is hell to drive through

Universal: green light to build up to 115 metres height within the well-populated town of Bedford.
Alton Towers: has existed for many years in a quiet area and still isn’t allowed to build diddly squat, basically.
Merlin are playing on hard mode to be fair to them.

How refreshing to see something getting planning permission without the whole *apply-reject-appeal-call in-approve* dance

Huge result. Crazy how the UK doesn’t have a proper theme park. Especially when Tokyo has 8 or something lol. Luton airport and the train from London to Bedford is about to get a lot busier!
