In the sense that „if Poilièvre keeps leading the Conservative party, no matter what the Liberals do, people with empathy will keep Liberals, because it’s either ‚conservatism disguised as neo-liberalism‘ or ‚full on war on windmills'“? Yeah, that’s how I feel too.

The more the right wingers deals the window towards the right, the more my hands are tied into voting for what a consider a lesser but unnecessary evil.

If the Liberals can gain a functioning majority by attracting sufficient Red Tories, then I doubt they care at all what happens to Poilievre. A few more MPs and whether he stays or goes is irrelevant.

It really depends on who would replace him.

If they go with someone like Lantsmann or Jivani, nothing much changes. Jivani especially with his super-religious BS is insanely off-putting.

If they go with a moderate like O’Toole, they have a good chance of winning the next election. The Liberals have been in power for over 10 years, a lot of what Carney is planning to improve the economic situation and the housing crisis are long-term plans that won’t being immediate payoff, so a moderate conservative party promising change might have a good chance next time.
