Are people criticizing him about that? Isn’t the 3D effects and all that the ENTIRE basis of what audiences are seeing the movies for? I don’t know anyone who’s watching Avatar for the plot. It’s the amazing visuals which are getting me and everyone I know into the theatres.
Cameron is being such an unrelenting douche leading up to this release, it’s like he wants to be the only one in the audience to see his movie. If he’s making it only for himself, then he can enjoy it. We’ll go elsewhere.
Ok Cameron, its my money and I choose not to watch your sci fi hippy slop in 3D
Get off your high horse and dont become Ridley Scott, like, is humility such a foreign concept to you or did all that time in deep pressure subs finally scramble your brain somewhat?
I’m sure it’ll stand on its own merit.
I get nauseated when I have to watch a panning shot of a gorgeous vista that turns into a stuttery blur (for example, it happened in a recent episode of Pluribus when she’s on top of a building and watching all of the people driving away on the interstate). Gimme higher framerate if you want to do that or pan the camera a lot slower.
yeah, when tv’s and especially pc monitors are having 120-240 hz / fps, then source materials need to keep up.
I get motion sickness from weird 3D stuff, always have. He’s allowed to make the movie how he wants, I’m allowed to disregard it because it makes me physically ill.
Though I will admit, the first Avatar at least, didn’t make me sick I don’t recall. But that movie single-handedly started the whole 3D trend and created the pipeline for the 3D movie craze for the next 6-10 years. Luckily that fizzled out, because holy shit was it annoying for people like me who get nauseous when the 3D effects are bad.
Both are arguments of authority Cameron.
Avatar movies are the most self serving, cartoonish slop films of our day.
They just aren’t that good.
But the movies suck. All I can think is that if any of us made any piece of shit movie but had a huge budget it would just make money because it exists and a lot of people are stupid enough to watch it and enjoy it despite it being complete garbage.
Love 3d angpd high framerates, avatar still sucks.
Damn, you guys really love to hate on Avatar. There are far worse movies.
He has made way better movies, but they are not bad for what they are.
He’s a successful arrogant director
