I’m sure they’ll say at some point, in the near future, that _the UK no longer shares technology with us so why should we them?_ as a result of the US’s decision to suspend the technological agreement with us.
At least we have DragonFire and ARM.
A good example of a powerful nation trying to bully a weaker nation into compliance. One of the core reasons for the EU being created was to combat exactly these kinds of tactics. It´s one thing to bully a small nation with limited ability to fight back. Trying to bully an entire union that moves in unison and has the combined economical and legal might to fight back on an equal basis is a different beast entierly.
I wish the British the best of luck. They are going to need it.

Remember that with Brexit, the USA claimed it had a special relationship with the UK? That relationship is with Uk smaller, it can be bullied around more easily. Especially Trump loves to do many 1v1 negotiation each using his military to his advantage. It’s why Trump hates the EU and wants to break the EU up.
Thankfully Trump is also creating a common enemy for the EU to unite against. I’m loving the sheer incompetence in international relations 😀

The USA, as we all know, can not be trusted, ever. They will drive a knife in your back as soon as they can. This is just one of the many examples. Get f*cked, USA.
As much as Brexit annoyed me, we should just allow the UK back in under the same terms as before (if they want that of course). We should not let Europe be divided and conquered by the likes of Russia, China and the USA. Together we are stronger.

This deal was half baked when the announcement was made. It should not have been allowed the press it got before it was fully signed off.
Trump got what he wanted out of it which was a state visit and a good press opportunity.
There were too many unresolved sticking points which were never going to be easily solved. The same ones which have always historically blocked trade deals with the US.
I still think that some of the companies involved will just go ahead anyway with their investments anyway.
Tbh the UK has generally been better smart at military innovation, the US just piles shit loads of money into things so end up with more. I’m not super worried here.

usa and trump have a mafia mindset;they expect everyone to obey them. they dont want any country to be strong and independent like them. if you don`t obey,you become the enemy. it is good news that Europe is starting to see the real face of the U.S.
Turkiye understands this. they dont relly on the usa and dont see it as trustworthy,so they started to develop their own defense systems
I wonder the impact this will have on the US relationship with other Commonwealth nations — particularly, Australia.
The UK’s technology is currently more advanced than the US’s so this will benefit the UK
As Katy Perry famously said: “That’s what you get for waking up in Vegas”. The special relationship was just an American trick and in reality the word of Americans is not worth the ink or the paper it’s written on. Only way is to join the EU in some form.
However, the UK was trigger happy in the past and will always be trigger happy in the future. If they don’t like something they will leave again. If something goes wrong in Britain it will be the EU’s fault. Ceding powers to Brussels will always be anathema to a large chunk of the British population, perhaps larger than any other country.
With that in mind if the UK wants to join it should be under certain conditions. UK should NOT be allowed to rejoin without:
– a referendum and a supermajority voting voting to rejoin
– a deal which needs to be negotiated and finalised before said referendum
– a law stating that any future referendum on the union or its laws and treaties will need a supermajority and at least an x amount of the electorate participating to be valid
– UK politicians from the entire political spectrum and institutions openly admitting that Brexit was a failure and the future of Britain is with Europe.
It’s not a hazing or humiliation ritual but one way to make people understand the severity of the issue and provide assurances to the rest of the Union that this was a one time thing.
Trump butt hurt that UK stopped sharing intelligence with them so they can murder civilians on the high seas.
The UK needs to get its shit together and rejoin the EU ASAP. The Americans and Russians are pointing the guns at the Brits.

You had far-right maga being pro-brexit because when it’s out of the EU, it’s much more easier to bully and push around. It’s also why they’re supporting other far-right parties throughout Europe because alone, countries are easy pickings.
So the US gets frustrated that they couldn’t bully the U.K. into dropping quality and safety barriers for things like food and cars and whatnot – which was outside the scope of the arrangement anyway – so they throw their toys around like petulant children and cancel the deal.
That’s the quality of their “government” nowadays.
A good rule in politics is never link issues. Take the deal you have on that issue, be grateful, and move on. The moment you start linking issues, you end up in quicksand. Great, now the UK can’t trust your word. Any deal can now be undone by some unrelated matter.
