    1. This would honestly be a good opportunity to work with provinces to phase out below-market stumpage fees and replace them with more market oriented rates. The current fee systems tends to encourage overlogging & harms biodiversity while also lowering provincial logging revenues. Reforms here (if implemented correctly) would generally improve sector productivity, help the environment and generate more revenue for provincial governments etc. (while also making trade disputes over lumber less of an issue).
