    1. My trust, confidence and respect for Europe has nosedived in the past few years. Crazy how low we have fallen in such a short time

Does Denmark really have a piracy problem so severe that it needs a new law? I just can’t really visualize the average Danish getting the daily dose of Scandinavian noir through a VPN instead of just watching it on DR1 or Netflix.

    3. It was dropped in less than 24 hours and was likely a diversion tactic from the beginning.

What USA has been trying to do secretly to their own population, europe is doing it openly.

    5. ´Danish law could go further than measures seen in *even* more authoritarian states.‘

      Couldn´t resist 🙃

Why is it always fucking denmark, the ”happiest country in the world” that want to convince europe they need to spy on their people.

Why the fuck are they so worried about the fucking movie industry? There is real harm being committed out there. Unless it never was about that and they just want total control about whatever people do and can do on the internet.

wish instead of illegal streams they would finally ban stream of illegals coming on boats to europe

    9. Too many big companies among which the governments are dependent on vpns for this to go anywhere

    10. The part about VPNs have already been removed from the draft due to backlash.

    11. Looks like bots flocked to this thread, an attack on UE sparked by mere 140 million wrist slap on musk is ongoing. Thing is, last muskian fuck up with quickly turned off update that showed twitter profiles true origin did show that many of the „ultra patriotic“ propaganda profiles are located in either denmark or holland. Why’s that? Because that’s where most of europe’s VPN are hosted. So, as we are currently at the so called ‚hybrid war‘ with russia, and it is a fact that she has a division of cyber warfare, aimed to stir the pot in europe (and we don’t because of censorship in there) this decision would actually be sensible

      Let them try, lol.

Anyone can run their own VPN. The only thing a ban would stop is casual use of the commercial ones to get around shitty overpriced streaming services‘ geolocks on content.

Anything illegal is not going to be using those.

I would like to point out that the minister proposing this legislation already removed all text surrounding VPN from the proposal before the post was even made. Specifically because it could be interpreted this way.

Edit: Would like to point out that this decision was made even before the article in question was published.
