    1. So the only thing this dude has achieved so far this year is Pardons, not even tariffs, but Pardons

    2. Well, now that Trump has set precedence for removing pardons this means nothing I guess.

    3. From the article:

Trump is planning to pardon advisors, policymakers and others as his administration weathers piling criminal allegations. It would likely include people such as Stephen Miller, the architect of Trump’s immigration agenda.

Much of Trump’s second term has been defined by legal scrutiny of his own actions and those of his administration. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, for example, is facing war crime allegations.

Trump has leaned heavily on his executive authority. As of December 10th, he has granted clemency to 1,600 people this year.

    4. Now that criminals are allowed to pardon their co-conspirators, America will never recover.

    5. We will need a whole stack of reforms if Trump and his ilk are ever driven from power.

One of those needs to be a constitutional amendment adding some oversight for the pardon power. Maybe require Congress to confirm pardons?

Preemptive pardons aren’t leadership, they’re a confession of what’s coming.

How the fuck do you pardon someone from a crime they haven’t been charged of, let alone convicted and sentenced?

Is this pardon also possible for terrorists. If not declare them to be a terror organisation.

    9. Sounds like he’s already planning ahead. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out legally and politically.

Only way to end this is to have Democrats offer pardons for those that push a regime change through. Republicans in Congress will remove the power quick!

This raises serious questions about abuse of the pardon power. The constitution allows it, but it wasn’t designed as a get out of jail free card for cronies facing criminal investigations.

    12. Not sure about how things work legally in the States, but I wonder what would happen if he was either to be impeached, convicted and removed from office, or removed from office under the 25th for being unfit to discharge his duties.

Surely then there’d be some form of mechanism to void all the pardons he’s issued based on the fact they were illegitimately granted by someone mentally unfit to hold office, and he’s demonstrated publicly that he doesn’t actually know or recognize multiple people that „he“ apparently pardoned.

Similarly, if he was to die in office from some debilitating illness, surely a case could me made to void them, if issued.

    13. They’ve all already committed political suicide at this point. I think their only goal is to make as much money as they can, because deep down, they know their careers are over.

Not even a year into his Presidency and he’s lining up pardons for his cronies.

In other words he KNOWs his group is crooked. I believe they still can be sued

He’s gonna blanket pardon everyone for 4 years. How does everyone not know this? It’s what Biden did. Now Trump will do it because, unlike Biden, he, his friends, his family have been on an actual bribery crime spree.

    17. I heard the White House recently installed a pardon dispenser in the break room

The real joke is going to be watching all these degenerate fucks scramble like roaches when the light turns on, when Trump keels over dead on the shitter before he’s able to sign any of those pardons

    19. This is why they have to be charged for state level crimes, and hundreds of them. Lock up any that broke the law in any admin.

They cant quit as he won’t pardon them ,they cant get fired because he won’t pardon them . He cant be 25th amendment because they wouldn’t get pardons . The mob boss has everyone locked tightly in place.

I know this will sound authoritarian, but I don’t think Trump’s pardons should be honored. None of them. I think all of his work (crimes) needs to be undone and every administration member in his service should face jail time.

I know Democrats won’t do this. They’ll try to abide by a ‘taking the high moral ground’ path, but they have to understand that Trump has set the most dangerous precedent with pardons. He’s turned it into a tool to authorize braking Constitutional and international law.

You should not be able to get a get out of jail free card for the holocaust, or blowing up random ships in the Caribbean, or denying Americans due process, or rewarding a personal bribe. This isn’t about protecting innocent people, like Dr Fauci, who became real targets to American extremists for… what was it, asking people to help prevent the deaths of older and at risk Americans? This is just about protecting criminals in your service.
