Trump is just the loudest and shittiest asshole doing the bidding of the people behind the Republican party since Reagan. He’ll die soon, hopefully before they’ve completed the transformation of the US into a fascist oligarchy, but the damage has been done and the people holding his lead will remain. The coalition of wackos, nazis and kleptocrats that is now in charge will fracture but Trump will take the blame for everything they’ve done and the Roger Stones of this world will walk away scot free. The Democrats will get in, but since they serve the same corporations and billionaires as the Republicans and are just as happy deep down to have dismantled the apparatus of the state they’ll still wage wars for capital and oppress minorities at the level that’s the new norm but just less obnoxiously and with a concerned face. Hopefully China will be a better world leader, but looking at America’s track record of invasions and injustices they could hardly be worse.
