Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy threatened to freeze $73 million from New York on Friday for allegedly issuing commercial driver’s licenses for immigrants „illegally,“ which could result in the „total decertification“ of the state’s CDL program.
Roughly 18% of all truck drivers are immigrants, and the often-grueling industry is already short of tens of thousands of drivers.
It’s like a civil war already, sending troops and masked (red) goons to blue cities, and now also threatening various states with withholding all federal funding, most recently Indiana but California too IIRC. He threatened all SNAP food aid for 21 specifically blue states too.
They’re going to be removed soon and everything they’ve done is going to be undone. It would be great if they could stop trying now. They’re just annoying us at this point.

lol. Impossible to enforce. You can take the licenses, sure. Companies WILL just run unlicensed drivers. ESPECIALLY in NYC, where they’ll have absolutely no choice BUT to run unlicensed drivers. And the government will either have to enforce the law strictly and not have ANY truckers delivering to NYC, with all the repercussions that would bring; or not at all, OR selectively enforce it and face all the litigation THAT would bring. Call their bluff.
