Die australische Regierung hat praktisch alle Eltern des Landes als inkompetent bezeichnet. Sie würden ehrlich denken, dass das Überschreiten der Grenze und die Verletzung der Heiligkeit von etwas so Privatem und Bedeutsamem wie der Elternschaft Ihrer eigenen Kinder einen landesweiten Aufruhr hervorrufen würde. Ich möchte gar nicht erst hören, wie viel Steuergelder in etwas geflossen sind, das 99,99 % aller Menschen unter 16 Jahren leicht umgehen können. Dies ist in einem Land geschehen, in dem ein Fünfjähriger das Geschlecht in seiner eigenen Geburtsurkunde ändern und Pubertätsblocker ohne Erlaubnis der Eltern verwenden kann, aber plötzlich bis zum Alter von 16 Jahren keine sozialen Medien mehr nutzen kann.
Jeder, der denkt, dass es hier um die Kinder geht, und alles glaubt, was uns diese Regierung und ihre nicht gewählten Bürokraten sagen, ist ein völliger Idiot. Wenn irgendjemand den Richtlinienauftrag auf der Website des E-Safety-Beauftragten tatsächlich gelesen hat, war dies nur Phase 1. Die nächste Phase beginnt am 27. Dezember, was bedeutet, dass jeder Australier sein Alter bestätigen muss, um einfach eine Google-Suche durchführen zu können. Phase 3 im März wird höchstwahrscheinlich weitere Einschränkungen für Pr0n und andere Websites beinhalten. Dies ist erst der Anfang. Albo gibt im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes zu Protokoll, dass er Tastaturkrieger hasst und die Idee, dass Leute online einfach sagen können, was sie wollen, ohne dass es Konsequenzen hat. Es gibt buchstäblich keine Grenze mehr, die überschritten werden kann, es gibt keinen Widerstand, keine Empörung.

im in agreement kids under 15 shouldn’t be on social media. its a fucking toxic wasteland full of bots, Eastern Europeans, and scams.
parents dont really seem to give a shit about their kids anymore. everyone seems wholly invested in lying online about their lives to make people they dont know jealous
typical really.
tobacco is the perfect example of that ridiculous attitude. for those not aware, Australian organised crime is experiencing something like a smaller scale of what occurred during usa prohibition era. our legal tobacco is now so expensive that everyone i know is buying black market smokes. even otherwise law abiding, conservative and compliant individuals are regularly breaking the law.
ironically the tax revenue actually shrunk as a result of over taxation pushing so many people into purchasing illegally.
and the resulting turf wars have been quite dramatic as it is an insanely lucrative market.
if experts and history predict with high certainty that kids will bypass the measures and in doing so expose themselves to greater threats, the solution should be pragmatic not „yea but i told them not too so it’s their fault if this backfires horribly „

Social media has influenced younger generations to have negative views of Israel. We know tik tok in US was purchased mainly due to Influence the Israeli narrative.

This lockstep of the usual suspect countries, means it will be adopted in the rest of that gang, watch out for it coming to UK, France, Canada, rest of EU after France, next. What this led group do is each take turns to implement the next part of the plan then the rest of the crew, point to it being successful or standard and implement it too. Step by step authoritarianism is tightening it’s noose. These leaders are told what to do and not by or in the interest of the public.
There are healthy things about the Internet social media and plenty of unhealthy things.
It is definitely a dimension which draws people into it, especially those who have less ability to gauge what exactly it is, are attracted to by „cool“ novelties and quick fix gotos, and who lose themselves in it.
On balance, I think my own position is – I do not think it is wrong or bad to ban children from social media.
Children could have been banned from social media from the beginning. It could have been set that it is an adult thing, addictive especially to those who can’t work that out and balance things, and for people in vulnerable stages, whose brains are being formed as they grow towards independence, it isn’t healthy.
I know there are arguments the other way, and there can clearly be benefits to social media – but I think the opposing arguments cannot establish that it is wrong or bad to ban social media for children.
When the government is the arbiter of what is acceptable speech the game is over.
