Hallo zusammen,
Ich habe diese Schallplatte während meiner Reise nach Warschau gekauft. Der Verkäufer sagte mir, es handele sich um eine sehr seltene Platte und ich hätte großes Glück gehabt, sie zu finden. Es ist ein Album von Ewa Demarczyk, aber was mir aufgefallen ist, ist, dass es sich um eine sowjetische (UdSSR/Melodija) Veröffentlichung handelt, obwohl sie eine polnische Künstlerin aus Krakau war. Ich habe mich gefragt, ob mir jemand mit Sachkenntnis helfen könnte, zu erklären, warum ihre Alben in der Sowjetunion veröffentlicht wurden, aus welcher Zeit diese Pressung stammen könnte und was den breiteren historischen oder kulturellen Kontext von Ewa Demarczyk und ihrer Beziehung (falls vorhanden) zur UdSSR betrifft. Ich würde mich wirklich über Einblicke oder Geschichten freuen.

Copyright laws were nonexistent in the commie era. Melodiya pressed everything that would sell without any connection to the artists. I would treat it as more of a bootleg than a record with any kind of a story behind it

Nie jestem dużym fanem, ale jest jedną z nielicznych tego okresu polskiej muzyki, których słucham.

While it is true that Melodya didn’t concern itself with such bourgeois concept as copyright (BTW, they even ripped some American jazz by Black artists ’subject to racial discrimination‘), this is indeed a legitimate, artist-approved release. Demarczyk was very popular there.
I don’t know how rare this LP is these days, in the 80s your could buy it in any Empik.
