$400 million vs an annual military budget of $900 billion is chump change. There are only a handful of countries that have both the technology and the intent to attack the US and Russia is one of them. It has been worth every penny spent so far to tie down Russia’s military resources, degrade them, learn about Russia’s current military in action, and learn the lessons of Ukraine’s war (eg., drones).
In the beginning, Ukraine has such sizable support that they were jokingly referred to as a branch of our military. Their support exceeded the smaller services.

This is good news for Ukraine. The Gripen jets will not be on the front lines until too much time has passed for them to have had an effect. EU countries that have any F-16’s and/or Mig-29’s should either give, or loan, or sell them to Ukraine.
Right now the name of the game is drones and cruise missiles, so all that takes is…money.
The commitment of funding for the next couple of years just might do it. Russia will be defeated, and pushed back to their borders, and Ukraine can start rebuilding with western help. The „new Russia“ will be very militarily weak and unable to threaten their neighbors.
Sweden and Finland have joined NATO, and Ukraine can start moving towards member ship.
$400 mil is the equivalent of $400 bucks to a millionaire.
