It’s so cool to be anti America right now. Not anti MAGA. Straight up anti America.
A lot of bots and foreign actors. But also IRL people. I recently had a falling out with a chick I am(?) crushing on because I’m not anti America enough. Despite the fact we both choose live here. And she moved here from somewhere else. And can leave whenever.
Anyway, my point is, there are no vaccums in nature. (quantum fluctuations and ultra diffuse gas if you were thinking of trying to nerd up on me). If the US wasn’t doing it, someone else would. And the two other biggest options are much worse. Ask the neighbors if you don’t believe me.
One of the reasons there is so much shit now is because well meaning people are too soft. Like tolerance is great. But if you are tolerating people cutting other peoples heads off, what TF is the point?
Bullies and misaligned people will always seek more power. That mean the well meaning people have to as well.
Imagine if America was completely pacifist. Ignore everything else besides the war in Ukraine.
How would Ukraine have faired if America had no weapons to give them because we were run by a bunch of well meaning softies? „Here are are flowers and good vibes. Just remind the Russians it’s mean to attack people, that should stop them!“
We have yet to figure out what to do about social media. AI is about to make social media look like a pebble thrown in a pond compared to AIs Chicxulub impact. Plus other over the horizon issues.
I know I’m yelling at clouds right now. But come on people. Stuff is about to get super complicated and we are still struggling with basic concepts like what it takes for true deterrence.

With these guys running things, I’ve got to question their ability to lead. I’ve been shaking my head for over 10 years now since gorge bush took office. Its been constantly terrible.
