    1. at this point it’s just a matter of whether the next one happens before PP’s leadership review or after. if im carney I want to run against him again so I’d drop it day after or something so he still wins the leadership but then the house of cards falls as more members switch over. Fascinating to watch a first for a federal party to gain a majority without an election.

      And remember, we vote for MPs not parties, this is not undemocratic. members are free to switch parties or switch to independent, should they dislike the direction things are going.

      You would think that the Conservatives were polling in single digits given some of the comments on these threads. But they are more than holding their own in the polls – even slightly ahead in some. And given the precarious times we are living in, it wouldn’t take too many slip ups on the part of the Liberals to turn the polls decisively in the CPC’s favour.

      I guess it really does come down to PP being an insufferably toxic person to deal with.

      If I were to guess, it’d likely be Jim Belanger. He ran for the LPC nomination in the riding back in 2015 as well, so yeah.
