Warum? Die Sowjetunion hat eindeutig einen Völkermord am polnischen Volk durch Massenmorde wie das Massaker von Katyn zwischen 1939 und 1941 begangen. Ich erinnere mich, dass meine Großmutter mir eine schreckliche Geschichte erzählte, wie sie und ihre Familie in Sibirien überlebten, bis Hitler in die Sowjetunion einmarschierte. Die russischen Vermögenswerte hätten also sicherlich ausgereicht, um den Schaden der Sowjetunion zu decken. Vergessen wir nicht, wie die Stalinisten in der Nachkriegszeit weiterhin Menschen ermordeten.

The point of spending frozen Russian assets is not that it’s morally justified, it’s that we’re at (proxy) war with Russia right now and should try to harm it by taking away its funds. Just give it to Ukraine to spend on killing russians. The idea that we deserve some of it for WW2 is baseless.

War reparations exist, but for Jews, not Poles. As the saying goes in Poland, „Sausage is not for dogs.“

The soviet union doesn’t exist anymore. Even in the picture, they’re in Lvov which is in Ukraine now. Why not just invade Ukraine and take it back? Seems like a popular thing to do these days.
