I wonder why this thing exploded.
I’ve seen in many videos that both sides use explosives from AT mines for those drones, right?
But to my knowledge, those kinds of explosives aren’t triggered by a gunshot.

Uhhhhh tracers are really helpful there.

wondering if rocking full mags of that could be the way to go

This is extremely dangerous (*with the soldier engaging in very close proximity to the drone*) but carried out very skillfully by the Ukrainian soldier. As he wears no body armor *(00:11*), chances of survival would be low if he was caught in lethal range of the drone payload.

He also seems to have no spare mags on him, so if he had not managed to destroy the drone with the ~30 shots in the mag, he couldn’t have continued to defend himself from the drone (*~18 shoots audible until destruction, so just ~3-4 controlled bursts „safety reserve“ remaining*).

This shows that **tracer munitions** (*flashes visible from 00:05 onwards*) can contribute to overall success in short range anti drone defense as this allows to visually correct the aiming point and and correct alignment with the movement of the target between bursts (*soldier initially overshoots and corrects aim until the target is destroyed*).

The soldiers also employs the **cover** of the tree and the low lateral branches to shield himself from a quick and direct approach by the drone as he keeps this obstacle between himself and the target and only „sidesteps“ (*00:03*) out of cover to swiflty engage the drone as slows down during descent towards the soldier.

The soldiers also swiftly **vacate the site** after the drone was successfully destroyed, likely in order to evade „follow-up attacks“ by other drones.

      Slava Ukraini!

    4. Must be far behind the lines if they’re not in uniform, or civilians that got a hold of a rifle
