An interpreter at the European Parliament couldn’t hold back tears during the speech of 11-year-old Roman Oleksiv.
The boy survived a missile strike in Vinnytsia on July 14, 2022, which killed his mother. After the tragedy, Roman endured 36 surgeries and a lengthy rehabilitation process due to severe burns and injuries. Despite everything, he has returned to school, dance, and music.
