Tom Cruise’s space movie isn’t getting off the ground if that means shmoozing with Donald Trump.

An anonymous source told Page Six that the movie star’s space movie, in which he would reunite with Edge of Tomorrow director Doug Liman, isn’t moving forward because it would need NASA coordination—and Trump’s approval. Those sources claim Cruise didn’t want to cross that line.

“From what I understand, they would need NASA coordination to do the movie, and supposedly Tom Cruise did not want to ask Donald Trump for a favor,” the source told the site. “You’d need permission from the federal government.”

“Tom didn’t want to ask for political reasons,” they added.

Hilarious. Tom will be the outspoken spokesman for a cult, but „shmoozing“ Trump is a bridge too far.

Like, I get not wanting to personally deal with Trump, but I dont get the whole cult thing and I find it funny that Tom is morally above one, but not the other.

Tom> I have my hands full with one cult I don’t have the time for another one

    4. Tom Cruise is that one friend of yours that is amazing in every way but just don’t get him talking about one particular subject.

    5. So we will have to wait till his term is over before we can see Cruise dive from the international space station to the earth’s surface, with 100% practical stunts

MAGA is so fucked up that they make Scientology look like the rational ones.

    10. Damn, too evil even for the organization that disappears people on prison ships for speaking out against them. That’s what level our dear leader is at now.

    11. Even the dirty dealings of Scientology won’t cross the line of getting a favour from a mob boss.

Because Trump would immediately make it about him, about how Tom Cruise „said very nice things about me“ and how „he said he couldn’t do it without me“, etc.

Despite the fact that any agreement here would be between representatives of both parties with little actual involvement from Tom himself, Trump would absolutely use this as an opportunity to cast him as besties with Tom and obviously that’s not the look he wants.

So, he moves to one of the other thousand projects he has and comes back to this when Trumps gone. Say what you will about Cruise, but a bad businessman he is not.
