Sudan’s military, which is supported by Turkey, has suffered substantial aircraft losses, including MiGs, Sukhois, Antonov and Ilyushin cargo planes, and now Bayraktar drones. The military faces an RSF ground offensive in South and North Kordofan, as the RSF escalates its own drone war. The arms race between the Sudanese Armed Forces and Rapid Support Forces is facilitated by external backers, particularly the UAE, Turkey, Qatar, and Egypt.
