      This goes for other countries as well. Most of China lives on the east coast. Almost all of Egypt’s over 100 million people live right at the Nile Delta, and even in my homeland, Korea, people don’t live in the 70% mountainous regions. Maps of countries don’t really show you the scale of what the country is like for the people actually living there. Which is why highly populated countries are actually even more dense than what you’d assume them to be.

      Without those camels, rabbits,  mice/rats that desert would be slightly less uninhabitable

      Most of Australia’s landmass is not very good at sustaining human life.

      It’s not uncommon for people die in the outback because their car breaks down, and they aren’t carrying enough water to stay alive until someone finds them.
