Is the higher part of brain function switched off or never working in the first place?

They’ll never truly understand what *“we got carried away”* means to the person who actually lived through it.
We carry that weight for the rest of our lives. Fractures friendships, damages relationships, disrupts careers. Even decades later. All because someone took something from us. They forced us to grow up long before we should have.
My abuser was young and struggling with mental difficultires. Reading The Flowers of Algernon has made me more forgiving and respectful of rehabilitation in cases like that.
But 41 and 69? Absolutely not. They knew exactly what they were doing. I struggle to believe you can rehabilitate them.

Victor Blowers, from Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, admitted to nine offences, including rape, sexual assault, assaulting a child under 13, taking indecent photos of a child and making indecent photos of a child. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison, with an additional four years on licence.
Alexander Blowers, of Morello Place, Cambridge, pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault, one count of rape and creating indecent images of a child. He received a 20-year prison sentence, with an additional five years on licence.
I won’t say what I really want to say because I’ll get banned, but 12 and 20 years is no where near long enough for them 2, we all know neither of them will serve even half of their sentences.

Could the state please ‘just get carried away’ when they imprison them, beat them daily, put them in general population with no cctv coverage, deny any medical care etc.
Paradox of tolerance is louder than sitting within six feet of the bell in big ben here.
Some people literally bring no good to the table. Net negative for society.
This is definitely a ringing endorsement for oubliettes.
