What a weak, pathetic little bitch of a „president“. He has to make sure anyone visiting never hurt his fee-fees in the past 5 years.

Nothing says ‚Welcome to a healthy democracy‘ like unrelenting surveillance…

Tourists to the United States would have to reveal their social media activity from the last five years, under new [Trump administration](https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/trump-administration) plans.

The mandatory new disclosures would apply to the 42 countries whose nationals are currently permitted to enter the US without a visa, including longtime US allies Britain, France, Australia, Germany and Japan.

In a notice [published](https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2025/12/10/2025-22461/agency-information-collection-activities-revision-arrival-and-departure-record-form-i-94-and) on Tuesday, the US Customs and Border Protection agency (CBP) said it would also require any telephone numbers used by visitors over the same period, and any email addresses used in the last decade, as well as face, fingerprint, DNA and iris biometrics. It would also ask for the names, addresses, birthdates and birthplaces of family members, including children.

I will never go to the USA now, and my internet use isn’t even exciting.

On a practical level, how are they going to examine every tourist’s social media? That’s a lot of work.

If they’re doing this to tourists….just imagine what they’re collecting and compiling for citizens.

    8. They just don’t want any „misinformation“ coming into their newly developed surveillance state.

    9. A small price to pay to visit „the greatest country in the world“ 🤡

This is pathetic. The USA has achieved an all time new low.

      Democracy, my ass.

    10. Just don’t go to that shit country. Better options available. Always like Canada more than the USA.
More beautiful and the people are more nice too.

    11. Is there a legitimate safety case that could be made for this type of vetting? The article cites an example of a French researcher who was denied entry to the states for private messages between peers that were critical of Trump in some capacity, but the FBI dropped the investigation with no charges.

So… Security theatre? Anybody have any thoughts on that?

    12. When the fully documented Korean engineers setting up the $1B investment were forced to drink water off a concrete floor with their hands zip tied behind their backs I figured I wouldn’t be doing any in person meetings or conferences until I’m *certain* the street thugs have all been purged. I’m so woke now – Zoom will do wonders for my carbon footprint! So this announcement is irrelevant – they’re already doing much worse.

Face it, they’re going to start checking the social media of American citizens returning from foreign trips.

Tourism is going to drop to near zero if you can’t enter the country if you have been critical of heir fuher.

    15. InsanelyAverageFella on

The dictatorship is growing. Now you can’t enter if you ever spoke poorly of the great leader. I wonder if he picked up this one from his North Korea interactions.

I recently had to make a long distance flight from Europe to Oceania and my choices were a stopover in America or China.

It’s crazy to me as someone who grew up in the 90s that China is now the better and safer option. If I flew via America I would be had to buy another visa just to change flight in the airport, I’d have had to redo security again with the TSA, I’d have possibly had my phone taken and searched, and I’d have had to have my photo taken and potentially fingerprints too. In China I was literally straight off one plane and on to the other, none of this at all and it was completely free. I can’t believe how America is nowadays, it’s insanity, and Americans still call it the most ‚free‘ country on earth.
